Carrie is getting married!

Last weekend was a busy one! Not only did I shoot Rob and Elizabeth's engagement pictures, but I also got to shoot some bridal pictures for Carrie. She is getting married in June in Jamaica, and because they don't think they will be able to have a photographer for the actual wedding she wanted some professional pictures of her in her dress.
This was seriously one of the most perfect shoots ever! We were a little worried about the weather, as it started raining on the way over to the beach and even rained sporadically throughout the shoot (that made things interesting, as we definitely didn't want to get her dress wet!). But she was great to work with! I don't know many brides who would be willing to run around the beach, climb up in the sand dunes, and even lay in the sand - BEFORE THEIR WEDDING! But we were careful, and she figured that as she is getting married on the beach it would be getting sandy anyways...
Thank you so much Carrie! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Rob and Elizabeth are Engaged!

Last weekend I met up with Rob and Elizabeth (and their puppy, Winston) for their engagement session. We started out at their apartment complex in Orlando so that we could get some shots with Winston. From there we headed over to Baldwin Park, which is a small residential community complete with shops, restaurants, and beautiful gardens. That is a special place to the two of them, as it is where Rob proposed. They were great to work with - both were so laid back and relaxed! And they seem to genuinely enjoy being together, which always helps :) Thanks so much, you two! I can't wait for your wedding in June!

This is the actual bench where Rob proposed :)

Congratulations Rick and Lea!

Last weekend I kicked off "wedding season" by heading over to Gainesville for Rick and Lea's wedding. The wedding was held at the quaint Sweetwater Branch Inn, and it was a fun celebration to be a part of. The two of them seem to really enjoy being together, and they were both so laid back the whole time. All of their friends and family seemed to be enjoying the day as well. Thank you both so much for the opportunity to be a part of your day!

I love the proud look on her father's face!

This couple could really dance!

Everyone really had a great time dancing

Vegas Night Shoot

One night while I was in Vegas for WPPI, a group of us got together for some night shooting. One of the girls had brought her assistant along, and she had brought her wedding gown. So for the fun of it we dressed her up in the gown and headed out to "play". By the time we got started it was almost 10:00 at night and cold out, so we decided to just head over to an empty hallway in the hotel. We had fun playing with some different equipment; one girl had brought a ring flash that we all played with in addition to a softbox, pocket wizards, video lights, etc. It was a lot of fun, but it was also neat to be able to feed off of and learn from each other.
As far as photoshop, I played around with these more than I usually do. I would LOVE some constructive criticism on these! Let me know what you think works, and what doesn't...

The next 5 shots are my absolute favorites of the night. We set up a softbox with pocket wizards, and I set my camera to shut out all of the background lighting (it wasn't a dark hallway!). I think the result is really dramatic!
The next two are the same pose, but different composition. I think I like the first one better, although there is something about the second one that I still like.

Eventually we got kicked out of the hallway by hotel security - apparently we weren't supposed to shoot there? However, we did convince the security guard to let us take a "few" shots in another hallway that we'd spotted..

Here's a few "action" shots... the first one is Candi holding the softbox...
Just checking...
