New Toy!

Today my friendly UPS man arrived at my door with an exciting package: my brand new fish-eye lens! A few weeks ago I sold some old equipment (I still have a Nikon 50 mm lens for sale if interested!) and we decided to use the money to buy some new equipment... I'd been wanting one of these lenses for awhile, so I was excited to be able to get it! Of course I had to open the box and test it out as soon as it arrived... and of course my children were my first subjects :)

Gotta love the huge booger under his nose! :)

Stay tuned... new toy #2 arrives tomorrow!

Poor Baby!

This was Chris - ALL DAY today! The poor guy woke up and seemed to be normal.. but then around 8 he lost his breakfast - and he literally spent the entire rest of the day like this. He only got off the couch one time around noon. It is so sad to see him like this and feel so helpless! Please pray that he feels better soon - and that the rest of us stay healthy.

Holiday Cards Part 2

Here is another set of Christmas cards that I have designed. These cards are flat, double-sided, 5x7 inches and printed on cardstock. The samples below show both sides of each design.

If you have done a session with me in the past, and you are interested in any of the cards, let me know. Also, they will be available for the holiday sessions.

There are a few more designs coming: a 5x7 folded card and a 5x5 trifold card. So stay tuned :)

Not Many Shopping Days...

Good grief - where has this year gone?? I can hardly believe that it is almost October... and that stores are already stocking their Christmas stuff. I think they start ealier every year!

With that said, I have decided to do a special promotion this year to help everyone get ready for the holidays. I will be heading out to the beach on October 2-4 from 4-7 pm for - get this - some free family portrait sessions! Yes, that is correct - FREE!

Here's how it works: shoot me an email letting me know if you are interested, and also what day/time you'd like to sign up. I will be giving each family roughly 25 minutes for their session - so sessions will begin on the hour and half hour. During that time, I will take whatever pictures you want. Also, you will be able to see samples of cards and other available products. After the sessions I will post your photos in an online gallery, and you will be able to go in and view them, as well as order prints, Christmas cards, etc. I will also have special sales going on at that time on various items.

Just think - you could get your Christmas shopping done early this year! After all, who really needs another sweater??

And this could be for anyone: families, singles, engaged couples, high school Seniors, kids, etc. The more the merrier!

Just to give you an idea, here are some sample photo cards that I created that will be available.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations Mike and Ashley!

Last weekend I had the honor of photographing Mike and Ashley's wedding. I had never met either of them in person before, as they live in Albuquerque and so did their planning long-distance. But they are a beautiful couple, and their wedding was a fun and special event.

The ceremony was held at Ashley's father's house, and the reception was held on the Indian River Queen - an old paddlewheel boat! Ashley was a beautiful bride, and did a fabulous job picking out the details of the day. I LOVED her dress, birdcage veil, and jewelry! And the flowers by Sinatra's flowers were amazing.

The next morning I met Mike and Ashley as they were getting ready to board their cruise ship for a few more shots. I couldn't help but ask if I could stow away on their 7 day cruise...

Congratulations you two!

And the next morning.. that is their cruise ship in the background.

Anna: 4 Months

Time really does fly! Here is my Anna today, on her 4 month "birthday". Here is last month's shot, and you will find the links for previous months in the same place.

Ok, since I had the camera out I couldn't resist a few more...

This is her "I'm getting tired of this so you better pick me up soon!" face.

On another note, Mark just accepted a position with a company called ASRC up at Kennedy Space Center! We are so excited - God is so good. He is going to be working on the new rocket that will replace the space shuttle. So yes, folks, I am married to a rocket scientist! He starts next Thursday. We're all really excited about life returning to normal; it has been a LONG 3 months.

Silence

I love this song by BarlowGirl. It speaks to the truth that there are times when God seems to be silent... but the reality is that His children are never alone.

I pray you are blessed by this song today!
