I was so excited when Amanda contacted me about shooting some maternity photos for her and her husband Anders. I've gotten to know Amanda a little through the Bridal Society, as she is the owner of Amanda's Florist. If you are looking for a florist, I would HIGHLY recommend her - she does beautiful work!
Anyways, she and Anders were preparing for the arrival of their first baby, a little boy they planned to name Van. And boy did we take these just in time - he was born not too long after we took them!
We did the session in their home in front of a large window. This was a little different for me, as I generally shoot outside - and I never stay in one spot for more than a few shots. But it was a fun challenge to come up with different angles and positions - and I really like the results!
Anders had just gone out and caught a bunch of lobster, and so he suggested bringing one in for a picture. I thought he was joking. He wasn't. I'm not much of a seafood person, so I confess that I don't think I've ever really seen one up close...
I think this one might be my favorite.
Doesn't she have a beautiful belly?!
Her brother/sister-in-law live next door, and they had just had their first baby, a little girl. In fact, the day we did this session they had just gotten home from the hospital! So we borrowed baby Erika for just a few shots :)
Congratulations you two on the birth of little Van! I can't wait to meet him sometime!
