Mike and Ashley are Engaged!

Last weekend I met up with Mike and Ashley over at Sebastian Inlet for their engagement photos. These two are an amazing couple, and I loved working with them! They both love Jesus, and it was evident that that love formed the basis for their love for one another. They also share a love for the outdoors, so the inlet was the perfect spot for their photos. We started (at 7 am!) on the beach, and then headed over to some trails for a few more.

Ashley and Mike, I hope you enjoy the pictures! I can't wait for your wedding!

I love it when the guys start suggesting poses... this was Mike's idea, and I thought it was really cute! :)

Congratulations, you two!

Baby Ali is 4 Months Old

It is crazy how fast babies grow up! I can hardly believe that little Ali is already 4 months old. But, it is a lot of fun seeing all the new "tricks" that she can do each time I come. Here are some of my favorites!

She was snoozing away when I arrived...

We spent most of the session outside - it was beautiful! We put her on a blanket, as she had rolled over a few times and they wanted to try to capture it. But apparently she wasn't in the mood - this was as far as she got!

She's found her thumb :)

Rye has a picture of herself when she was a baby sitting in a garden with a large carrot, so she wanted to try to replicate it. This was Ali's first experience with any kind of real food - and she just loved chewing on it!

Here's her "growing" picture... to compare to her at 1 week and 2 months.

Rye grabbed my camera for this quick shot ;)

See you in a few months!

Anna is 3 Months Old!

Good grief - WHERE does the time go? I can hardly believe that Anna is already 3 months old.. She's been growing like a weed, and getting stronger every day. She is typically a really easy and content baby - we are so blessed! Anyways, here is her 3 month picture.. you can compare it to the same pose as a newborn, at 1 month old, and at 2 months.

Class of 2024

I think the phrase "today is the first day of the rest of your life" certainly applies to Chris today. As I type this, he is at his very first day of preschool! I cannot believe that my baby is old enough for school! Good grief, where does the time go?
We bought him a backpack last night, and to our surprise he loves it and doesn't want to take it off - he screamed almost the whole way to school because he couldn't wear it in his carseat! He seemed a little nervous when we started walking into the school, but as soon as we entered the classroom he immediately started playing. Mark suggested that we sneak out while he was distracted, but I just couldn't resist going and giving him a kiss... well, that spoiled the sneaking out idea as he immediately ran to us and started crying. His teacher pried him off so we could leave... I felt like I was leaving my heart behind!
For months I have been counting the days until today. I was so excited about him going to school and getting to be with kids his age, and I couldn't wait for some quiet time. But now I am finding myself counting the hours until I can go pick him up and give him a hug! And, I am praying that he settles down and has a good time.

Edit: We went and picked him up from school, and he seemed to have done fine. We couldn't really talk to the teacher since all of the kids were being picked up, but he looked happy enough. But maybe he was a little overwhelmed with the day, because when he got home he really seemed to need some quiet time to play on his own :)

Dan and Melissa are Engaged!

For Melissa and Dan's engagemen session, we decided to go to several different spots. The first was a place that I had been eyeing for some time... it was a field right on a main road in town that I drive past all the time. But, the big "No Trespassing" signs were a bit of a deterrent. However, these two were brave enough to break the law with me for the sake of a few good shots :) We didn't stay too long, but long enough to get this one!

We then headed over to downtown to grab some shots by the railroad tracks...

After that we started wandering through downtown itself..

And finally we headed over to the beach. Both Melissa and Dan (especially Dan) are
sports fans.. but they brought these jerseys for some shots at the request of Melissa's father. So, Dad, this one's for you :)

I think they thought I was nuts for taking pictures of their feet. But I thought it was cute :)

This is definitely my favorite image of the evening, and quite possibly one of my favorites ever! I love it when my couples are so willing to do anything I ask. And these two were great - I had them laying in the sand in one shot, and in the next...

Melissa and Dan, thank you so much! I can't wait for your wedding!
