Class of 2024

I think the phrase "today is the first day of the rest of your life" certainly applies to Chris today. As I type this, he is at his very first day of preschool! I cannot believe that my baby is old enough for school! Good grief, where does the time go?
We bought him a backpack last night, and to our surprise he loves it and doesn't want to take it off - he screamed almost the whole way to school because he couldn't wear it in his carseat! He seemed a little nervous when we started walking into the school, but as soon as we entered the classroom he immediately started playing. Mark suggested that we sneak out while he was distracted, but I just couldn't resist going and giving him a kiss... well, that spoiled the sneaking out idea as he immediately ran to us and started crying. His teacher pried him off so we could leave... I felt like I was leaving my heart behind!
For months I have been counting the days until today. I was so excited about him going to school and getting to be with kids his age, and I couldn't wait for some quiet time. But now I am finding myself counting the hours until I can go pick him up and give him a hug! And, I am praying that he settles down and has a good time.

Edit: We went and picked him up from school, and he seemed to have done fine. We couldn't really talk to the teacher since all of the kids were being picked up, but he looked happy enough. But maybe he was a little overwhelmed with the day, because when he got home he really seemed to need some quiet time to play on his own :)

LOL I love his back back!
In my experience from being in the classroom.....they always do better when mom and dad leave-it only takes about 5 minutes and then they are off! (of course this is not from when I taught high school)

yeah for big boys!

Yippee! Makes your heart swell ... but from the moment they are born we are raising them to fly on their own. He looks so adorable!

I made a big scene on my first day of kingdergarden. I remember I was screamng and crying while my mom was trying to push me through the doorway. Your little boy is so cute and he looks like he had a great first day! :)
